EFSA's limits
- Magnesium: 250 mg a day from supplements. Magnesium from food is not counted against the limit.
- Vitamin D: 100 µg a day in total, from food and supplements.
- Iron: 40 mg a day in total. EFSA calls this a safe level of intake, not an upper limit.
- Zinc: 25 mg a day in total, from food and supplements.
For the limits that apply to your total intake, the food you eat is counted too.
